Want a touchscreen everywhere? It could be in your future.

Microsoft and Carnagie Melon Institute recently teamed up on an amazing new project that uses a shoulder-mounted Kinect to turn any surface into a touchscreen.

The technology is quite brilliant in its use of existing technology, mainly the use of the very popular Kinect motion-based Xbox technology. The system can detect clicks and basic motions of your finger on virtually any surface.

Now, this is a research project, but the implications and potential uses for this technology are endless. Imagine having a computer keyboard with you everywhere you go and being accepted by every device you own.
